The Department offers graduate programs leading to both the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. It also participates with the Department of Information and Library Science in the School of Informatics and Computing in offering a joint degree, a dual M.A. in Art History and Library Science. Dual degrees in other combinations are also possible at both the M.A. and Ph.D level and are arranged ad hoc.
Ph.D. students from other departments wishing to complete a minor in art history must complete 12 credit hours in the department distributed across 2 lecture courses (8 credit hours) and one seminar (4 credit hours). Seminars may always substitute for lecture courses. Independent study is not an option. Please contact dgsarthindiana.edu if you are interested in adding a minor in art history to your degree plan.
