Maggie McLaughlin is a Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Literature interested in contemporary comparative arts, particularly the relationship between poetry and visual art. Their research centers around poems, especially collections of poems, that challenge the presumption of poetry as a literary genre and function as visual works as well as textual ones. Outside of IU, they enjoy cooking, hiking, and spending as much time with their friends as possible.
