Ph.D. candidate MaryClaire Pappas has been awarded the Aurora Borealis Prize in History for her paper "Dangerous Affectations: Orientalism and Jean Heiberg's Nudes" by the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study (SASS). Twenty-six papers were nominated for the prize.
According to SASS, "The Aurora Borealis Prize is awarded to the outstanding paper presented by a graduate student at the SASS Annual Conference in several categories: history (including art history), area studies, language and literature, and undergraduate students."
