My name is Sasse or Red Engel. My concentration is contemporary art, focusing on conceptualism and abstract experimentalism. I grew up in Chicago and attended the Chicago High School for the Arts, an arts intensive school, where I studied for various visual mediums. I graduated from Knox College with a B.A. in Art History. My undergraduate thesis was on the evolution of webtoons and reader perception in the digital age, diving into how the addictive vertical scroll has altered the reception of art and narrative online. I gained a strong theoretical basis at Knox College where I took courses in various art fields and art criticism. While at Knox I won the Beverly Bender Art History award for my thesis, and the Theodore Hazen Kimble Memorial Award in Journalism for an article I wrote for the school newspaper.
