Ga-young Kim is interested in exploring the relationship between the individual and society through art, particularly during periods when social unity was emphasized over personal identity. Her research focuses on the tension between state-imposed or sanctioned art, artists' autonomy, and the public's response as an active audience. Outside of academia, she enjoys cooking and playing tennis.
