I studied art history and Russian and Eurasian studies at Mount Holyoke College, where I developed an interest in late 19th and early 20th century modernism. I am interested in modern art's cultural interesections in Central Asia and in the avant-garde as a reaction to conflict and a reflection on the revolution. This work also incorporates media outside the fine arts, including decorative art and film. Complementing my interests in the visual are pursuits in lingustics and literature, and I am excited to be involved in the Slavic and Turkic language communitites at IU. I have worked in collections and objects conservation at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum, and particularly enjoys working with prints, manuscripts, and textiles. I am passionate about being a resource for first-generation students and undergraduates who are underrepresented in the field of art history.
