Professor Faye Gleisser wins the Association for the Study of Arts of the Present Book Prize

Wednesday, October 23, 2024

The Department wishes to congratulate Professor Faye Gleisser for winning the Association for the Study of Arts of the Present Book Prize. Her book, Risk Work: Making Art and Guerrilla Tactics in Punitive America 1967-1987, was published in 2023 with the University of Chicago Press.

The award was annouced on Thursday, October 17th, at the ASAP/15 Award Ceremony. Risk Work discusses how artists in the US starting in the 1960s came to use guerrilla tactics in performance and conceptual art, maneuvering policing, racism, and surveillance.
