Professor Faye Gleisser is featured in the cover story of Artforum's October 2023 issue with "Let's Ride: Art History after Black Studies," a conversation with Huey Copeland, Sampada Ranke, and Faye R. Gleisser. The article highlights Dr. Gleisser's September 2023 book publication, Risk Work: Making Art and Guerrilla Tactics in Punitive America, 1967-1987, now available through the University of Chicago Press. Risk Work tells the story of how artists' experimentation with guerrilla tactics in conceptual and performance art reveals the complex and enduring relationship between contemporary art, state power, and policing.
